Palmerston Lions Heritage Park

Lions Heritage Park, a large multi-use park in the centre of Palmerston, has become a gathering place for families, friends and visitors alike.

Amenities include a splash pad, a sports pad for basketball and ball hockey, and a playground for kids. There is also a tennis court, waterfall, picnic tables, benches and a full-size pavilion for family gatherings.

The Lions Club of Palmerston has provided a fully lit brick path, winding its way from Old 81 on Main Street to the Fire Station on King Street. Historical plaques can be found dotted around the park and provide a glimpse of the past through pictures and stories.

Additional features include a restored railway station (now the Palmerston Railway Museum) and the recently refurbished pedestrian railway bridge – the only one remaining in Ontario.

In 2013, Palmerston Lion’s Heritage Park was awarded the Butchart Gardens Land Reclamation Award through the Communities in Bloom program. This national award goes to show how lucky we are to have a park like this in our own backyards.
